I think I'm going to Petsmart so I shall return. Maybe with more plants.
In this area, prejudice is bad in high school and elementary, but not the colleges or universities (from what I've seen).

Also, dunno what meltdown you're talking about, but you're not allowed to have those, or I'll smother you with cuddles.

Aw, I can't imagine what it must be like. I mean, there are people who take visual "differences" and make ignorant decisions about them but really, what is race? What is it that makes people separate each other into groups? I mean, babies don't mingle with babies who look like them because they don't know about difference. They all play together
It is a socially constructed idea. And I truly hate that. It's something that came up in women's studies (of all things). People created these notions to separate each other and create hierarchies.
If I could go back in time...
The book I'm reading for English (the Whirlpool by Jane Urquhart) discusses gender roles and female domesticity. Gets under my skin. Post modern thinking I suppose.

My point, we are made to feel like outsiders anywhere we go. I mean, when I started going to Nova Scotia with my bf to see his family and friends I was made to be the outsider. They were all trying to include me but I truly was the "other". They would ask (very seriously) if I knew "such and such a person" because of their idea that Newfoundlanders ALL knew each other.

Laki, before you get going on that all Newfoundlanders know each other... story!!!

My mother and I walked in to a Tims somewhere in Cape Breton. Who's behind the counter? Someone my mother taught 10 years ago.
