Do you have sources to that claim?
I don't think fish need calcium as much as we do.

A shrimp is not a fish though :P

It is similar to why I let my turtle crush and eat her eggs after she lays them. The extra calcium and nutrients are good for her after she went though laying them and losing some.

Just did my interview for folkore with my wonderful bf. He gave me a golden interview! I'm so happy with it. For anyone taking folklore, the best interviews are the ones where the informant does ALL the talking! lol
And I took my kitty cat outside today on his harness. He was so good.

no I didn't get any liquid fertlizer, it's a 10 gallon tank and should I worry about the P.H. since bettas and platy's are hardy?

oooh how are the shrimpies. Im still jellie u got two for free whilst my petco has beenout of stock for a while now.

When shrimps lose their old skin they need nutrients to form the hardened exoskeleton of future moults. the most readily available source is their old moult.

A failed moult is one of the major causes of shrimp death, after bad water quality >.>.

you can add a pinch of calcium clay to the tank every time they moult and after water changes, it will help a lot :)

Do plecos need air stones? or are the plants/filter enough. If not, I'll use the pump for a sponge filter instead

OOOh and I seen both rabbit snails today :) Aparently the empty shell I saw was one of the shells I added to the tank to up the PH. It looked like a rabbit snail shell
