Oh, my sister think it might be better to call and see if it's worth brining the second rat in, since it involves 44$ in their pocket- they'll say yes. I suppose it can't hurt to have them both looked over since they came from a petstore. Good luck!

Thanks Sakura and FishyFishy89 I'm pretty sure it's fin rot and she's not just biting becuase the edges of her back fin look brown. How long does it usually take to kill the fin rot? I know regrowing the fin his a whole nother story.

Laki, thank you and thank your sister for me! If I got the bigger cage with the plastic pan, I might be able to get a relative to weld a new metal pan for it. I like the fact that the doors open all the way. Decisions, decisions.

I think I'll just *gulp* take Delilah too. Since they're in a smaller than normal cage, I wouldn't be surprised if Delilah eventually caught the URI also. I may empty all my knitting/crochet things out of my closet and put a big cage in there until I move. Where the knitting/crochet things will go is a mystery to me.

Olympia, I'm so sorry you've lost so many fish. :(

Yea. Gah.
I noticed that Pip is red and white, and unnamed is black and blue. Cute.
Maybe I'll aquascape the 15 really nicely before putting them back. Or put something non fishy in it. Who knows.

Is there something I missed? (I can never figure out TFK so I barely go there) Sorry for any losses :(

Sakura, yw! I say you'd be fine with the plastic one even without the metal welded on. I know rats chew but not like a bunny would. Rats chew toys and you can give them crunchy toys like dog rawhides and chews to keep their teeth trim. And, with the magical-ness of baking soda and vinegar you can neutralise anything!

All my bettas..
Kamikaze, Gilbert, Reuben, and now Maja.
Kamikaze and Maja basically went overnight almost, for what reason I don't know. Reuben and Gilbert were euthanized.. I know Gilbs had parasites but I don't know what was wrong with Reuben, he had a weird thing on his head but it had disappeared before he got really bad. Blah.
Can I treat these two with Metro just in case?
This is what divided tanks can end up doing, folks.

You can give rats rawhide? I had no idea. I bought some kind of twig chews for mine.

Thanks. I like the color of the one cage but I think I might try the one with the plastic pan. Looks like I'm asking Santa for a rat cage for Christmas.

I think I would be looked at like I was crazy if I put a rat cage on my christmas list, probably becuase I have no need or desire to have one. I must put christmas decorations up before it snows.
