I wondered why there was so much goldfish talk in this thread and then I realized I was posting in the fancy goldfish thread thinking it was this one

So if a mod would like to visit the other fish section and delete my post about newts from the fancy goldfish chat, that would be swell

do nerites poop as much as apple snails? I want a snail for sluggles but not a big one. Not that I ever see snails for sale here

I think they have a much lower load because they eat veggie and algae foods

Nerites poop a lot if there is a lot of food but I haven't noticed much else. Like, they'll poop a lot of digested algae and I think it has less bioload than apple snails. That was part of the appeal to me and my tiny 5g.

I have never tried blanched veggies on my nerites. Milly doesn't even really eat veggie or algae wafers either. So I only scrub algae off the front glass now so she has something to eat!
