You can have all the snails in that tank (which can't be good for the water quality) although the aquaclear 70 does an awsome job of collecting debris. The snails are failing at their algae eating job
There is a silk leafy plant in there and it's COVERED in moss as well as the fake log. Kinda jealous - I want moss to magically grow on my mopani wood. I think I might by my sister a hood for the tank for X mas.

Seriously, if you want more snails, I have a few left.

As soon as I get the okay for travel-deal! This transplant for my mom can't come any sooner! She'll have her new baby in the spring. And I can't wait to hear the official name for her first son.

I can't wait to see her Curlin colt.

I wonder, does it always take this long to name a foal?

Tiki, haha, I may take you up on the snail deal after Christmas. An AquaClear 70 on a 20gal . . . well, at least that tank is pretty well-filtered now.

I've got a 30 on my shrimp tank. Considering how quickly the intake sponge clogs up and limits the flow.

A bit overkill but it was only $13. I need to seriously baffle it somehow, right now I have the algae scrubber stuck in the middle of it to stop some of the outflow. it's too strong even for the goldfish. I wanted to put it on my 20 since I have all the snails and 2 plecos in there but I would of had to move the shelf out a few inches and that would of been a chore in itself. My aquaclear 20 gets so clogged up, i'm guessing its from the plants?

Aww, Yuuie. :( I hope you feel better quickly. *healing hugs*

Yeah, plants for some reason really clog up a filter. I use a prefilter sponge on my Aquaclear 30 and it is yucky. The filter sponge in the Duetto 100 is just a nightmare.

For a prefilter sponge, just get the prefilter sponge for the Fluval Edge.

http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...AvailInUS%2FNo

It slips right on the intake tube of an Aquaclear. It might slide a little but overall, it works and it keeps the gunk from reaching the impeller.

Silver, how did you do on your exam?

I seen the prefilters on sale on amazon. my bad, I have 2 aqueon 20's and 2 tetra 10i's. Would the fuluvial prefilter fit on the aqueon's? I was thinking of upping it to the tetra 40i since it goes inside the tank and not on the back.
I also have whatever craptastic 10gallon filter my sister used and OMG it is so freakin noisy - rattling sound.

I figured a filter for a 70 gallon tank is better then one for a 5 gallon tank - especially since goldfish poop too much.
