I grew up in a town of 1000 or so folks. And yes, I lived on the outskirts.

Job interview tomorrow!

Ugh. So I got a green spot puffer to eat my excess ramshorn snails. I knew he was brackish and I was all prepared for that, bought the salt mix and everything.

Get home and realize: the snails are freshwater. *facepalm*

Though I've been reading that ramshorns can be acclimated to brackish, it seems like way too much trouble. Now I'm waiting for my ride to return so I can take this guy back and get a pea puffer. There's less of a chance that the tiny pea puffer will eat the snails but at least he's freshwater.

Also, despite what I was told at the store, apparently green spot puffers need 30gals and I was going to put him in a 5gal. *facepalm again*

Hmm, what about dwarf gouramis sakura? Mabey a kuhli loach? I'm not quite sure what other small fish might eat snails.

Aww fishy, poor korra! :(

I know botia loaches eat snails but the problem is they all get too big for a 5gal too. Urf. And the one botia loach that doesn't prefers being in groups of 6 or more (as in my 20gal) or they get nippy and mean. Looks like I'll be smashing snails this weekend. :(

Poor puffer looks sad in his bag. Tried calling my ride; hopefully the fact that I didn't get through means they're driving home.

Korra is a cutie!!

Oh you didn't. You didn't just post adorable pics of guinea pigs, thereby making me want to rush to Petco and grab the guinea pig I saw last night. Ah, if I didn't have the rats in the closet, I'd convert that into a guinea pig pen. Maybe should've done that in the first place since the guineas wouldn't have eaten the hems of my clothes!

Reading that pea puffers will eat large snails but they just suck them out, not crunch the shells. I'm totally okay with that as long as the snails are dead one way or another.

Ride is on the way.

EDIT: Lady has this incredibly cute "who me?" look on her face in that pic.
