Gah -37c?!? Kill me. The coldest I ever experience in Newfoundland (with its ridiculous wind) was probably -30ish.
@jen, -37C is about -34F. it's freeze the face off ya cold. It was only about -20C here yesterday but I had to walk to school with my glove over my face bc it felt like my sinus' were being pulled from my face bc of the wind. This is why I am staying home for the majority of today!

omgggggggggg thats FREEZING.
The coldest I've ever experienced is in NY over the winter. It was like maybe 18F. Wind in the city is horrible though. It snowed and then there were gusts up to 32mph. T.T

In FL though I don't have to worry about that, only hurricanes.

Ouch, frostbites are NO fun! I usually get bitten on my ears by the cold so that they are red and burny when I get inside. Also, my legs too. And if I was to go walking to school now, I would have the chills all day regardless of the temp.

QUESTION!!!! Should I acclimate some RCS for my beta tank?? I need extra algae eaters in there (as you can tell from my noodle picture, the algae is all over my hornwot impeding its growth)... Will my bettas be able to catch them? They're pretty quick.

Amanos are better algae eaters or so I've heard. Not sure if that is true or not. I would start with only one or two RCS because they are so tiny and betta mouth-sized. Just to see how it goes.

Thanks Sakura! Actually mine are pretty conditioned to eating algae bc sometimes I don't feed them and they are forced to eat all the algae off the salvinia (which is withered away now between them and the seed shrimp) and I sucked some algae into the turkey baster last major tank clean and fed it to the shrimp and they went crazy playing in it and throwing it around and eating it.

If push comes to shove I can get 2 amano. One for each side.

In the meantime, I might acclimate 2 female RCS in today or tomorrow. I think my bettas spend more time looking at me then looking for things in the tank.

the conversion is like 33.8 from 1*C to 33.8*F
