You mean Paisley?
I grabbed her to inspect how she was looking and as soon as I let go she hid in the plants for a few hours. xD Now she's super worried about being grabbed.

Paisley. Drat. Matt was talking about Pascal so I got that stuck to my mind.

How long did it take for her to become "photo worthy?"

EDIT: Oli, if we get the tanks, let's have the eels Skype.

I mean I want a goldfish tank. I have enough betta tanks, believe me. Your goldfish tank is beautiful! I thought plants didn't last with goldfish?

If you look closely you can see she's still got the poop on her. Tried a funny angle to make it less noticeable.

They don't, Matt. Hornwort and anacharis can keep up with them. I remove empty stems a lot. The swords get attacked too. They are still babies, adults would clean the tank pretty well I'm guessing. When they move to their 100 gallon it won't be planted, maybe some anubias but that's it.

I want goldfish now. I want a fish that doesn't mind being handled. If only Sparky was cuddly.

OMG online eel dating.
We can breed eels in captivity. 1 in 5 relationships start online these days (they play that commercial too much). xD

Sparky IS cuddly!
And you have a goldfish!!

What would you suggest putting in a goldfish tank? Would they be happy with a rather bare environment with decorations here and there? I haven't had a goldfish in YEARS. I just remember Spot (my goldfish) living like 5 years.

If we are made of cells, then a scientist who studies cells is actually a group of cells studying themcells!

They definitely like sand bottoms. In nature they sift through sand to find food so mine spend a lot of time doing that. They grab a mouthful, swim to the top, and spit it out (no HOB filters, would get clogged).
As they start getting bigger they are really clumsy so bare tanks keep them out of trouble. They do like the plants because they forage constantly, but it's a huge mess so not everyone would put up with it.
Penelope likes trying to swim down towards the bubble wall but maybe she's just weird. O.o

I have a goldfish I never see. Also, since she's long bodied I tend to forget she's a goldie. I just lump her in with the koi. :/

Hahaha, okay, I seriously want to start an eel dating service. "Now Serving Our Friends In Canada!"

They killed him... He was quite active and then 30min. later *bam* fins and all were gone. -_-" Little monsters my girls are. It's okay, though. And I agree with the others, your goldfish are gorgeous! I like Piper. ^^

It's alright. Life goes on!

Over hundreds of bettas die in their small, dirty cups each day. Only you can help them live. Research and then save them, today!
