They recently cut money to education, healthcare, and social programs because they refuse to add a pst, or tax the oil companies at the rate they used too. We've had the same government for forty years. I still absolutely love it here... There are tons of great things. It's just frustrating sometimes. I had a social studies teacher this year that really opened my eyes and changed my worldview for the better, and I enjoyed it and think it made me a better person. Anyways, I'm sorry for the rant lol. I'm a fairly science oriented person but try to be well rounded.
I suggest you watch this. .

It might not change your mind, but the "green" industry was one of the things I've been looking into lately.. Plus this guy is pretty funny about it (I just love the part where he's talking about doubling or tripling the amount of solar plants). And he does have some good points.

They've cut our education to the point where public schools can't afford sports teams anymore here (well the ones in my town at least), and are probably building a private hospital here (depending on how the protests go) (which you get your care without waiting in the ER 8 hours but you have to pay for every penny). Better yet, our government is raising all of our electricity costs so they can fund their wind farms and solar plants. Which is more along the lines of what this guy is talking about.

taking a break from fish-keeping.
3 lovely male betta still keep me company.

Olympia, the deeper you tread, the worse you will feel about it all. Trust me. Best thing to do is keep an open mind, educate where you can and live YOUR life as best you can. North America and the world will continue to capitalize more and more so try not to let it get you down. There's a huge hippie-type population here in my city.

Bekah, hope you feel better!

DQ!! How exciting!! Congrats!

Thanks, guys. I was hoping to be in our house by this time next week. It looks like it won't be for at least two more weeks.
