MTS don't eat other snails. Maybe they ate the food that the ponds were living on though. o.O

Will look for that plant, Fishy, thanks.

You're right. Oliver is his name. I'm sorry, we call him Wally (as derived from Ollie and we thought Wally sounded cuter since he's such a clown)

I've developed quite a population of them in my tank. I love them. So cute. xD

Hygro is an easy plant! Are you sure your bulbs weren't old? Planted tank folks advise to change out your bulbs yearly, even if they don't blow out. I'm coming up on the time to replace mine.....I think.

Although, when I google the name you gave, it seems to be much bushier than the type I have. I believe the seller called mine Narrow Leaf Hygro or Temple Plant.
My light is nearly 2 years old I think.. Plants still growing like weeds.

IDK
The plant folks said that lights lose their intensity after a year and that you should replace them around a year.

People said Cobomba was an easy plant, but I struggle to keep it alive in my tank. :P

I assure you that I don't go by the books.. Much too poor to buy a new light when this one works fine :D But I see why people would in a large tank with fancier plants.

Had this deadly (awesome) burger today at a place called the Works. Oh my.

I always struggle with Java Fern, amazon sword, and hygro. Oh and pennywort.

Sucessful: Anubias (6 months old), anacharis (? I can't remember), argentina sword, ludwigia, rotala, and java moss.

Oooops, sorry, Fishy! I thought you meant the plant itself was a bulb plant. -____- I feel silly. No, my light fixture is a Marineland Aquatic Plant LED fixture that is less than 6 months old. The thing with my hygro is, the original stem is doing ridiculous things. It's bushy and it's trying to grow emersed because it's this huge thick stem with tones of nodal roots everywhere. But any cuttings I take wither and die no matter how many ferts I put in.

See?

But the cuttings never make it.

It's fluro tubes you are supposed to replace after 12 months.

I think LED lights don't need replacing.
