O: That's so sad, So the colour of the tail would be different from the body? I hope her's looks as normal as it can! She's so cute even without it :).

It depends on the gecko, but it isn't uncommon for the tails to come back completely white or something off like that. It isn't "natural" looking at all. It's very pitiful indeed!

Thanks shimizoki! It may take as much as four months to grow back, but with the right diet and care, I'm hoping it to grow back in a little over a month.

As laughing said, it may grow back a different color. Or it may have a deformity, I've read that a few geckos tails grow back end up having two "bulges" where it almost looks like they have two tails. It probably won't be as plump as it once should have been.

Leopard gecko aren't very big climbers, so I doubt she would try. But there is a "lid", its a mesh screen right now, but my dad is going to make it into a proper lid soon. The lid is more for the crickets - they're alive and they like to jump!

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it! I'm planning on buying her more hides, so eventually it will look more realistic and desert-y.

She's already so spoiled, and she knows it! :P

Ack! Live crickets! If I were you I'd keep the mesh on tight lol! I'm not very good with bugs... They gross me out but I feel bad for killing them X(!
But the stub on her tail looks raw, it wont heal over like a normal wound if she has to grow a tail right? So is it like an open wound then?

Normally the wound heals completely over, but sometimes it can still keep that blunted edge, rather than form the tip at the end. As long as she gives her good care, and keeps the wound from getting infected, everything should be fine with that!

I had live fruit flies for my bettas, but some got loose, and now there's a crap load around my place because they magically find each other and reproduce. >.<

I want a crested gecko so bad, but I am forcing myself to WAIT! I can't add more expenses right now, and I'd feel crappy if it got sick and I couldn't take it to a vet :/ I just keep thinking be responsible, be responsible, be responsible...

I think you should always be responsible, and if you are truly responsible, guilt will never follow.

See, I know if a buy a gecko now, when I don't have the means for it in an extreme case (terrarium breaks, it gets sick, etc.) then I know I will feel extremely guilty. Or if I lose my job, and I can't keep the gecko, I'll feel bad for purchasing it then giving it up.

Therefore, responsibility rules. I've never had a problem after doing the truly responsible thing.
