I looked up and taught myself double stitch crochet last night. I'm making a scarf with it. I'm doing two rows of double and two rows of single repeatedly to make a nice looking pattern. Here's a picture. I've made more progress since I took it, but I'm too lazy to take another photograph. I'm using Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Limelight. It's acrylic, which I normally hate, but this stuff is SO SOFT. I love it.

That will be a vibrant, cheery scarf. :)

I know, right? I love it. The camera makes it look a bit more dull than it really is. It's fun creating something. It will be SO satisfying to wear when it's finished!

Sorry for another post, but I can't edit my last one to include this. I put aside my scarf so I can make one for my brother for Christmas. I'm sure I can get it done by then, but if not, it will only be a few days off. =) Here's a picture. It's a jet black, super soft chenille(I think). I'm using a double stitch.

Yep. I decided it looks too girly because of the texture and appearance, so I decided to switch to a dark green yarn for his scarf. I'll still make the chenille scarf, but I think I'll be giving it to my mom. =)

Thank you, DQ! I'm really having fun with this new hobby. I didn't think I'd enjoy it like I do. I thought it would just be a new skill, not something that would consume so much of my time. Not that I mind, I just didn't expect it!

Progress on my bro's scarf. Stupid camera makes it look sage green, but it's really a dark forest/olivey green. I'm using a double stitch to make it go faster. It also makes for a less heavy, nicer looking scarf.
