Don't quit, just practice. You need to relax more when you crochet or you will end up with uneven stitches or too tight stitches. Just really focus!

Ok, I'm just afraid that I'm going to get into a habit of getting uneven stitches but I'll try one more time :)

It takes practice! Just focus on each stitch to begin with so that you can redo the stitch before you get too far. I still end up with mistakes in my work. It's an art form that takes lots of time to get perfect.

With crochet you need to keep your work relaxed.
If you find your foundation chain is too tight, try using a larger hook for that and then switch to a smaller hook for the rest of the work. I've always had a problem with my chain being too tight.

Don't give up, NFL! It's cliche and it's irritating but it's true: practice makes perfect. Or as close to perfect as humans get. Just keep trying! I think I threw away my first several knitting projects because they were so bad.

I have a couple of WIP pics of the sleep sack I'm knitting. Really bad ipod pics btw. I still need to take some of my finished projects.
