Yay!

I started a scarf last night with my new orange-y yarn. Actually I started it five times because no pattern was looking right with the yarn. Finally I just decided to wing a basketweave pattern.

Here's the cowl I'm making. I'm making it rather large up and down to make sure it keeps her neck and her face completely warm.

Yep, I love it! I'll probably make her a matching headband, too.

I'm not exactly sure what kind of yarn it is. I've never seen it anywhere.

Hehe... because they look cute?? Why wear ear warmers when you can just wear a hat? LOL!
And of course, I'm in no way confident enough to try making gloves although after making these, I'm sure I would be able to at least figure out mittens :D

The scarf is made with double crochet stitch. I was looking at a tutorial for basket weave pattern and figured if I didn't alternate the post position every 3 rows I could just make continious ridges.

Wao!! Wish I coul knit like that!!
