Question Any knitters on the forum??

I'm realllllyyyyyyyyyy wanting to learn how to knit, but I have no idea where to begin Can anyone recommend me some good books/websites/youtube videos that will give me a good start???? Also, what do i need to start knitting?? I know I'll need yarn and knittng needles, but is there anything else that's less obvious??? Thanks!!!!

My Current bettas:
Sullivan- Orange rose tail halfmoon male
Daisy- Mustard Gas (black and yellow) veil tail female
Milton- Teal butterfly halfmoon male (mom's betta)

Join ravelry.com - there's thousands of free patterns for everything and anything. It is seriously the best thing evar for knitters :D

Thank you soooo much, that helps alot!!!! Didn't even think about a pattern, which shows just how much of a beginner I am XD I can't wait to start learning, I'm so excited =D

knittinghelp.com is really awesome.
even though I watch videos of people knitting...I can't figure out how to do anything but basic stitch scarves. haha

If you have a local yarn store, get a skein of some good quality but not super expensive worsted weight yarn (Patons Classic Wool is good and low-priced) in a light color so it's easier to see your stitches, and some size 8 or 9 needles. Wool is a lot easier on your hands than acrylic, I think. Also, yarn stores often have lessons. Other than that, youtube has good videos.

I taught myself by watching the videos on knittinghelp.com. Don't give up! It's really worth the learning curve frustration!
