in a 2.5 i would go with 2-3 per gallon. Put lots of hiding places though. lol. they can get aggressive to eachother.

Well considering I have 5 in a 1 gallon happy as can be, I would say at most 13. 14 if you really want.

They are very small, and have an almost nonexistant bioload, so bascially you could have 100 in a 1 gallon and you could still have 0 ammonia and everything if you did water changes.

Keep in mind- They are HIGHLY sensitive to ammonia. Even the slightest trace can kill them.

BIOLOAD is not the point here... They can and will kill eachother if they feel it is too crowded.

Just be aware. I was told i could have upwards of a dozen in a 2.5 when i first started, and then i watched as they killed eachother off over the next week.

O.e wow. They can do that? I can't imagine how. Mine have never done that.

But that is a good point. I mean, if bettas had 0 bioload, you still wouldn't kepp them together!

Scary.... Thats not good. I don't know what to do noa... I mean, I don't have any spare tanks.

Correction- I think the tank might be 1.5 gallons. It still is small, but they looks small in there.

If they have been alright in your bowl for a while then they should do fine. But as soon as one starts to get bigger than the rest i would suggest finding something that is at least two gallons for them, because the biggest one will start hunting down the rest.

They are all about the same size, really small. I will watch for that though.
