My thread is gone?

Yesterday I made a thread in Betta Fish Care regarding a Wal-mart I visited that was horribly neglecting the Betta's. I had pictures and I asked for advice on what I should do and who I should contact. Now it is totally gone.

Was it deleted purposely? If so then I am very annoyed. No PM, heads up, or explanation why. It took me an hour to get that thread posted since I had to upload the pictures and explain the situation.

Every Walmart is like that. There really isnt much you could do about it. You could send something to a manager at that Wal-mart.
I don't know how to explain what happened to your link, you sorry about your lost time.

It was removed because the pictures were disturbing to other members. It is against the forum rules to post pics and videos depicting cruelty to animals. LionCalie, I apologize for not letting you know.

So why couldn't the thread have remained with the pictures removed?

In that same vein, then why is it OK to post pictures of 6 goldfish crammed into a 0.5 gallon? Or posting a video of two male bettas in a small tank with some tetras (even if it was just "for a minute")? Is that not "animal cruelty?"

The policing on this forum is rather random.

If any of you have an issue with the way things are conducted on this forum, please contact a moderator personally or the admin. This is not the place to discuss this.

We haven't removed this thread because at this moment because it is not in direct violations of the rules. We however DO have a rule against posting photos and videos depicting animal cruelty and that is why it was removed.

Whether or not a thread is removed depends on the content of the thread. If you want to say that the policing here is random, go right ahead but I would have to respectfully disagree with you. IMO the moderating here is not random, but it does vary with different issues. Moderation is not just banning people and removing random threads, there is so much that goes on that members don't see. I think that instead of complaining about this we should be thanking the admin and the other mods for doing a great job keeping this forum spam free and family appropriate.
