Revolution of indie gamers? Maybe

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...fine-adventure this was the most amazing thing I have seen in a while.

Doublefine wanted to make a classic point and click adventure game(something they excel at with their sharp wit and brilliant characters), but publishers say it isn't possible, those games are "dead". Despite their plea for a meager 300,000 dollars(which isn't much. At all. An xbox arcade game costs well over 1 million to make! CD based games cost even more)

So they set it up for the fans--asking people who want to see these games happen to pledge money--The money would only be used if they reached their goal(now 400,000 so that they can film a documentary while making the game)

In less than 4 hours they hit 200,000. In just over 8 hours they reached their goal. And just look at it now! All the extra money is going into making the game better and more accessible and fun to everyone(more languages, more platforms, BETTER gameplay, BETTER music, more extras)

I think the gamers are speaking up. Good games never go out of style!

In the time it took me to write this post, 9 thousand more dollars were pledged.

Holy cow!!!

First we watch the insane hit minecraft was. Now we see this happen. I'm sort of inspired. This is incredible news for those of us wanting to get into the videogame industry. To not be held back by what the producer wants, to be able to put out the game you WANT to make..

It's kind of AWESOME!
