Dalish

He was a bright active boy for the week I had him. This morning though he was showing signs of stress. He was dead tonight. I checked his water daily and that wasn't the cause. I had been treating the water with AQ salt as I was afraid the journey here would take a toll on his health. I was determined to have a healthy fish. I had checked him for velvet over and over because I was scared it would be easy to miss on his metallic body. No signs of any sickness other then extreme lethargy today. I fed him blood worms 2 days ago but I fed everyone blood worms the same day. I feel like I can rule that out. I rinsed the new filter for an hour after a white vinegar wash and left the carbon in just in case. I am sure I missed something but I can't see it right now. I feel totally deflated and defeated.

Sounds like you took very good care of him. He may have had an underlying problem you never saw... You never know. Cannot blame yourself :) Sorry you lost your betta.

Breed for the breed, not for the money; the words any REAL breeder would understand.

You must know nothing in order to know all, for all is nothing and nothing is for all.

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost one last week that I'd only had for a week also, and it was very disheartening. If they're showing signs of something, at least you can try treating those symptoms and attempt to diagnose the problem. But without symptoms, it's very difficult to know what to do. As Sena said, he may have already had an issue when you got him.
