Breather bags and styro lined box for shrimp. Throw in a small piece of moss or something for them to cling to. Don't feed them the day before they ship to purge them. Ship express or priority.HTH

Also make sure to instruct buyers how to acclimate properly with a breather bag. They tend to sink below the surface a bit if you float the bag. This makes it no longer a breather, and can smother whatever is in the bag. I just always got them out of the bag and into a cup{just add tank water in increments} or other bag.

A note on the mystery snails - a few of mine after they settled down from being shipped to me have turned purple. They came from a batch of purple parents so -might- turn purple as they grow :)

No DOA on these, I don't have replacements - they are a freebie with plants to give them a good home :) If you don't want snails PM please before tomorrow morning, otherwise you are getting 2 :P


I tried to remove all snails from the plants. I dipped twice but if you do not like snails please dip again.

I like snails a lot so have a few different kinds in my tanks. We fully intend to start a no livestock tank for people who want semi-sterile plants but that will not be for awhile yet.

That's good to remember. I read a nice article about shipping fish that brought that up also. Won't be for months though as it takes shrimp a good while to settle down and actually have babies from what I have read. Tanks are grown out, cycled and ready to support babies! Just got to find a good momma and poppa.

Pandoras received the plants today. They are in excellent condition. The mystery snails are doing great too. Thank you very much, peachii.
