Pleco is short for Plecostomous.

They are very large algae eaters, commonly called sucker fish. They need large aquariums, fresh water of course. There are many different types of Plecos. The most easy and common one to see is a common. Some other common ones are Bristlenoses, Zebras, Bushynoses, and others. Commons grow the largest.

That brown fish in my photos of the gravel is a Common Pleco. His name is Echo. So, Echo the Pleco.

Gizmo- How do you think Splat would do with a few Ghost Shrimp? I want to add them to help clean. I don't like doing water changes every other day. It stresses out the fish. I assure you they won't crowd up his swimming room.

Ohm yeah. My cousin who also has a Pleco (In a 20 gallon...) gets angry when I call them that.

Oh! Sorry i have been away all day... lol!

Splatter would do great with some ghost shrimp, but they wont really keep the tank much cleaner, all they will do is pick up uneaten food and replace it with their own waste. lol

They do, but really they are not keeping the tank much cleaner either in the natter of detritus.. They just eat the uneaten food, and then poop. lol

Meh. I think it would be a good addition. I have snails in my other tanks, but a snail does add bioload and get huge.

I have also been really wanting shrimp. This is my excuse.

And my mom just saw Splatter. She thought he was really pretty.
