Hi guys, I have a Vt betta here that has been with me for over a week. I originally got the fellow to keep my other guy company. however, I don't think that I will be able to find him a sitter when i go back to australia for a month.

I bought him for $3 at a lfs and had to pick through about 50 of them unil i found a healthy one, which turned out to be this beautiful boy. Although not as beautiful as all those delta tails half moons and what nots, this guy definitely has his own beauty and charm. ( even my first abused lfs betta with completely curly fins from bad water has his own charm.)

Of course since Ive only had this guy for not so long, Im watching out for any health problems.

If you live in NYC and is iterested in taking him in please reply to this thread, Im in no hurry as I still have 2 more months until my summer break.

I only ask what I paid for him which is the $3. Im reluctant to rehome him through craigslist as there are all kinds of creeps out there....I will not ship because I am not confident in doing so and the little guy does not deserve to go through the trauma he already had in his micro betta shipping bag.

annnd here are some pictures! This guy is a totallll show off, swam eagerly up to the camera and began displaying and dancing...eats off your finger too :)

The camera picks him up as blue, but I think he looks purple, could be a blue/red illusion

Aw he's lovely <3 He looks like a cross between two of my boys. The dark face and body, and then the fin color. So new york.. Sadly too far away as I'm in Cali. He will have a home though! :0

I hope so too! it would be exceptionally nice if someone on this forum could take him... Landlord just saw my bettas earlier and blew up. he told me its my room or my fish...(whats wrong with both?) so I have to now rehome both of them. just made a posting on craigslist, sending fish with tanks food and whatever else off for $10 ea (annnd instructions on how to take care of beta fish) :( hopefully I wont have to resort to pet stores. That'll be like handing them their death sentence.
Ive grown to appreciate my first fish so much, he's kept me company for the past two months college and stress, When I rent my own apartment or buy my own house in the future, they will be the first pets I will get.
