Welcome to BettaFish! I am glad you weren't scared off. I do believe your tank maybe overstocked, but if you keep up the necessary water changes it will do fine.

Your betta is very pretty and in my experience, plastic plants don't always harm bettas. My CT twirls through plastic and live plants in his 5.5 gallon and he is perfectly fine.

Prettyprada, If you would like to save his bubble nest for him, you could always scoop it up with a bowl while you clean the tank, and then gently put it back where it was afterwards. That's what I always do when I have my bettas in conditioning for breeding. If I destroy Donatello's bubble nest he will just up and stop making it!

Just figured I would give that advice if you enjoy seeing his little nest. (Donatello usually seems happier with his nest even if it isn't during conditioning!)

Thanks you all! Yeah I took the snail out for now. I had to bring Prada down with me for Christmas break and the poor little thing got stressed out in the car ride :( so I am in the process of helping him get better. Then I shall get him a 2 gl tank and make sure everything is working properly before I place Hosea (the snail) back in there. :)

And thanks KirstenMarie! That is a fantastic idea! I really do enjoy seeing his little nests... He's stopped making them for now :( maybe when he gets to feeling better he'll start on another one!

Plastic is okay if it passes the Panty Hose test.

oh glad to here Cadence is doing better with traveling! :) haha I didn't get Prada until thanksgiving... so I'm still learning his ways! He is doing much better now! Chasing the little water droplets down his tank, zigzagging through his silk plants, swimming through his tunnel, struttin his stuff, etc.

HE JUST WON'T EAT! He irks my soul........ :///

I'm sorry, it's often a problem with bettas... Thank you though, I'm happy he is doing better with it because the first time I freaked out haha. I hope Prada does better.

He kept flaring and was just generally grumpy. This was really early in my betta mommy-hood so so flaring made me freak out hahaha. I got some tips from a pet store that knows bettas (not petco) and now he does much better. :)
