Ah, but its not the plastsic, its the size of the tank the fish is kept in thats the problem.

His tank is 1.5 gallons. I'd get bigger, but it literally will not fit anywhere in my dorm other than the floor...

Welcome to the forum...

IMO/E-a 1.5gal unfiltered or filtered is fine to use for a Long fin male long term-provided that proper water changes are made....

Lots of different ways to keep this species successfully......

Enjoy your stay....

I am only concerned with the plastic plant. I am interested by how shallow it is.

Hello, and welcome to the forum and the world of betta-keeping!
The plant can't kill your betta, it may damage his fins, though. It's recommended to get live or silk plants, those can't harm his fins. A 1.5 gallon is perfectly fine, as long as you do the needed water changes.

Is the snail in there real? I see a shell, I think this is a stupid question from me. lol

Over hundreds of bettas die in their small, dirty cups each day. Only you can help them live. Research and then save them, today!
