Don't walk by a betta area with a soft heart!

This nearly dead boy in less than 1 inch of cloudy filthy water was a goner. The clerk was unpacking more newly arrived betas. I tried to gain his compassion by showing him this dead floating fish but it wasn't going to happen and the fish tried to turn over. As most of you have done I took him home to let him die in peace in a clean bowl of water. That was earlier this week.
It appears careful attention to testing the water, warmth and a moderate amount of food is all he needed.
Meet Sammy, who is having a great time going from one side of the tank to the other checking out Buddy and Calypso "I'm not alone there's others here…yea! I want to kill you!"

Awesome fish! That's a great story, and I'm sure Sammy really appreciates it. Welcome to the community.

Yay for Sammy!!! It was his lucky day for sure. It was nice of you to give him a much needed home.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

It's great that you rescued him!!! I'm glad that he found a good home with you and your other bettas!
