New Owner, What Kind of Betta is This?

Hi all! I'm a new betta owner, although I did own a betta in the past who lived quite a long time, even though I had him in a relatively small habitat. Now I have two new bettas, each in his own aquarium (Fluval Edge and Spec), so they have room to roam.

One of the two is supposed to be a dragon betta, although I bought him because I felt sorry for him, not because of the type. His fins were all furled and he looked miserable sitting among dead and dying bettas. Now he's 100 percent better, and I've looked at photos of dragons online but he doesn't seem to look like them. I'd love it if anyone here could give me insight on his true type.

It made me so depressed to buy the bettas because the store obviously had an overstock and many dead fish. Oh well, at least my two boys have a good home now. My "mystery betta" is pictured below:

He is a dragon in my opinion but I can't tell what tail type he is until you post a picture of him flaring. Could you?

5 gallon
One betta
10 gallon
Two bettas, divided
Three mystery snails
20 gallon
Seven female bettas
Four oto cats
Five juvenile female guppies
One goldfish (temporary)
29 gallon
One dwarf gourami
Six tiger barbs

27 fish....

Thanks for the fast response! I haven't seen him flare yet so I'll try a mirror on him later.
