Red face It's Been Long Since The Start...

July 3rd, 2010 was the day I joined this large yet growing community. I was 9 years old back then. Now, I've been growing up and I'm 13. The origin of this forum has been really interesting. I remember back then, I simply just posted pictures of bettas and now, I'm doing better, I guess. I still come by now and then and I'm still fascinated by newbies. They are so hilarious. (not in a bad way...) I remember there was this one time I fed my betta some graphite (pencil "lead") and it died the next day. I was SO stupid... so tell me, how did you feel when you joined this forum? Also, feel free to join my quiet personal forum, iceshards.prophpbb.com.

Bettas, Bettas, BETTAS!!!
Enjoy them, while they last...

Welcome back, but just curious why did you feed your fish lead? was it a accident?

The majority of fish issues are initially caused by poor water conditons.

I guess you were very young then and didn't really realise the harm that could be done and you thought it was edible, so try not to feel bad. And you have learnt from your past, like many fish keepers who make mistakes in the beginning.

Derp. I actually ate it myself, and didn't die so... Well. I'm 13, so I should be very stupid, yet I feel more mature than people my age. I have no friends because all people talk about is sports and all these things that seem boring to me.

Maybe you should see if there are any local fish groups in your area you could join, maybe even Betta specific. Sometimes Betta groups will have junior competitions for their fish.

Sadly, recently, I've been sick, and I have a big project that counts as 50% of my final grade. Maybe in the summer, I'll do that.

Well I hope you are feeling better now, and yes your school work is so important. I have attached a link of another new member, and she and one other member are of a similar age to you, I just thought you might like to introduce yourself and have a chat with them, you will likely have a lot in common with them. Here is the thread.
