Introducing myself :)

Hello everyone, so when I was really young me and my sister wanted fish so we ran to the pet store with my Dad and bought two Betta fish. We also got a 1/2 gallon tank for each of them. (They were both males. Mine was named Redd - I know, I was a creative kid - and my sister's was named Angel.) By the way we knew NOTHING about Betta fish. We had no heater, filter, and it was kind of a disaster. Here's a funny story: When we were cleaning their tanks (didn't know how to do that either lol) Angel jumped INTO THE DRAIN! Me, my Mom, and my sister were all screaming in a spasm fit when finally my dad got him out with a big spoon... My mom didn't want fish anymore and that's my sad story when we returned them. Years and years later I developed the passion for Betta fish and researched like never before. Now I am a crazy fish lady lol. SO I am getting a male Betta fish in August and am so excited. I have been held up and haven't had the chance to get anymore but I think one will lead to another hehe. Well I hope to talk to some of you and hear your stories too. Sorry this was so long haha

Hello and welcome to the forum

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

That sounds like something I would panic about! I actually have a phobia of dropping Gilbert, my veiltail, down the drain so I dont even take him near the faucet! He has, however, survived being in cat litter for an unspecified amount of time! He's a feisty little baby!
You will probably end up with 8 betta in the next 2-3 years. They're addicting.
I look forward to seeing what kind of adventures you and your betta will have!!

Bettas are like potato chips- you can't have just one!

I got my fist Betta, Loki, as a Christmas present back in 2012. Before I knew it, I had three bettas in my little attic bedroom. Unfortunately, Loki and Ralph didn't survive the move that I made a few months ago, so I had to take Little Joe, and start my collection almost from scratch. I've since added a little betta named Magneto to the family.

If you're a good owner and you pay attention to your fish, each fish will live longer than the last.

Good luck, and have fun!

P.S. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me on here. I work at a Pet store, so every question I get is like studying for a test. :)
