I'm brand new to Betta keeping, just got my first one ever, yesterday. Right now he's in a cheap plastic Betta tank but he will soon be moving into his starring role in a 20-Gallon High with some Corydoras tankmates. Joined the forum to learn more about caring for him.
Nice betta. Welcome to the world of bettas! I'm glad to hear he's getting a 20g, most betta keepers don't go over 10g, but bigger is always better. I hope you can get all the info you need from here!
Thanks! He will have some bottom-feeder tankmates (Corydoras julii) but in general I want him to have lots of space and the environmental stability that a larger volume of water gets. I'll at least be starting with the tank understocked for its volume. Might eventually add some harlequin rasboras or something else betta-compatible, once the system is well-established.
Beautiful Betta. I also just got my 2 betta's into a 10 gallon divided tank after having them in a small tank. They are my first betta's in about 10 or more years. I'm pretty addicted to Betta's now and wish I could get more!
What a wonderful thing to give your betta a 20 gallon! He's absolutely stunning, and I'm sure he'll appreciate all of the room to stretch his fins and move around...
oh my, what a beautiful betta! Great photos, too, thanks for sharing!
