New Member and Betta Parent!

Hi Everyone, Just thought I'd pop in and say hello! I recently set up 2 tanks for my Bettas, a 2.5 gallon and a 6.5 gallon. each tank has 1 betta and 1 specked catfish. I had bettas years ago and recently renewed my interest in them. They are really smart, responsive little guys and gorgeous on top of that. I love my little friends and they seem to like me too. What more could you ask of a little fishie? I hope to learn more from all of you. Thanks!.............. Aqua Butterfly

Hello AB and welcome to the forum

By speckled catfish do you mean corys?

If they are corys, they do much better in a group so you might want to think about getting a few more and letting them live together in the 6.5 gallon tank.

You can check out the Tropical Fish Profiles at the top of the forum main page if you're not sure or to see what the best conditions are for your fish and fish to come.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Pic of Rocky Boy in his new Tank

Hi Romad, Indjo, Thor & Ghost, Thanks for the welcome! Here is a picture of Rocky Boy having fun. I have a speckled cory somewhere in here. I have another tank too with B.B. and Spot I'll post later. Rocky is in a 6.6 gallon bookshelf tank I got from Petco. I just LOVE the long look of it. It is 24" long. It does not take up much space depth wise. I plan on taking the red coral out of the tank. I think it is just too much red. The tank is in an Asian theme. I want to add more bamboo greenery to the back and add a bamboo looking background. Old Rocky Boy thinks he has landed heaven, LOL! I feed him pellets, Betta flakes, and bloodworms, not all at the same time though. He and B.B are my little pals and I have a wonderful time watching their antics. Thanks for reading!

B.B.'s Tank

Thanks for the compliments Thor & Ghost. I had a blast setting it up! Here is a pic of B.B.'s tank too. This was my first setup. Its a 2.5 gallon. When the Betta Bug bites, it bites HARD. I have ordered a 3rd tank now. Does this obsession stop, LOL? Oh well, I'm having fun, the Bettas are happy, lifes GOOD!
