I am Cori from Florida and my boyfriend and I just got our first betta! Our house is animal central and a fish is a nice addition to the group.

We stumbled upon a shelf of abandoned Bettas in WalMart and took one home. He is a red veil tail and seems to be loving his new, large, clean tank in our dining room. We named him Fiero before we even got out of the store. Fiero is the feeling of pride you get from overcoming a great obstacle and I really hope Fiero is proud of his new life in our home.

He has 3 sisters and 2 brothers now who are entirely too thrilled to have him. Luke and Leia are our dogs. Luke is a 10 month old Beagle/JRT mix and is the youngest. Leia is a Mini Schnauzer/Brussels Griffon mix and will be 3 in June. Jezabel and Muffin are our female felines and they are around 3 years old as well, we think. They were rescues with no history so we guessimated. Neville is the boy cat. He just turned 1 a few days ago and is so far the most interested in Fiero.

Fiero has a split fin, a bit of fin rot and minor ammonia burns it seems. Living in 12oz of water for god knows how long will do that to a fish though. He is loving his new tank, clean water and acceptable food and we are more then happy to provide those things.

Thanks for having us!

Hi Cori and welcome to the forum

Good luck with your new fishie Fiero. I'm sure he thinks he's in heaven :)

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.
