Question 30 Gallon Tank- Suggestions on what to put in it?

I have this 30 gallon tank I got from my grandparents and I don't know what to put in it, I just can't decide, so I need a little help. I would like it to be a tropical freshwater aquarium I also don't want anything really aggressive because I want it to be a community tank. I just set it up today and is cycling and it has a heater. So any suggestions? Thanks!

A betta sorority with other types? :)
I've only had my aquarium for a half year, so I can't help you much.
Or look up freshwater fish and their living conditions.

A 30 gal is a great starter tropical tank. Before we suggest fish, we need to know your tap water parameters. These are things like hardness (GH and KH) and pH. There are some fish that can live in a wide range, but some that cannot. Your choices will be rather limited until we learn what you can have.

For starters, you can look at Pristella Tetra , Bronze Cory , and Bloodfin Tetra as these are all very adaptable fish.
