I put my baby common goldfish in my 29 gallon the other day as a temporary home until my 90 comes in for them. There are large rocks in that tank and the goldfish hide behind said rocks ALL DAY! They won't eat any food unless it falls close to said rocks. They are active down there (took a light and watched them swim like it was a fun maze.)
I got two. Thet won't be in that tank long as I will be getting a roomy 90 gallon tank for the withen the upcoming weeks. The test parameters? When I took the water in last (a month ago?) the clerk said that I have a water hardness of 7.9pH. I thin that's rather high right? Everything else he said was fine. He blamed the rocks were raising the water hardness. Their scales are still shiny. I gave them an algea wafer and they ate it in seconds. I am blaming the stress of the new tank to be the culprit.
