Question Scardey Fish

Just a quick question...

I put my baby common goldfish in my 29 gallon the other day as a temporary home until my 90 comes in for them. There are large rocks in that tank and the goldfish hide behind said rocks ALL DAY! They won't eat any food unless it falls close to said rocks. They are active down there (took a light and watched them swim like it was a fun maze.)

What's wrong with them?

I am the Emeraldmaster, hear me roar... *meow*

And after I roar at you, may I entice you to look at me fishies! http://www.bettafish.com/members/emeraldmaster-albums.html

When did you get them?

How many did you get? And what are the test levels in the water? I have had some fish who are just wimpy... I gave them more coverage and they were more willing to show their little faces :3

I got two. Thet won't be in that tank long as I will be getting a roomy 90 gallon tank for the withen the upcoming weeks. The test parameters? When I took the water in last (a month ago?) the clerk said that I have a water hardness of 7.9pH. I thin that's rather high right? Everything else he said was fine. He blamed the rocks were raising the water hardness. Their scales are still shiny. I gave them an algea wafer and they ate it in seconds. I am blaming the stress of the new tank to be the culprit.

What kind of rocks are they? It's true some raise or lower the PH. They probably are just stressed, it's pretty common in a lot of fish. They are eating which is a good sign

They probably do mess with the PH a little, but if a fish adapts to it it won't be so bad :)

Glad they are getting braver.
