I have a plant grow-out tank that contains a ton of pond snails. They recently started doing this hilarious thing where they slowly rise to the surface and then begin to slowly sink back down a moment later.
I had read that floating snails may be a sign of poor water quality. I did a partial water change but they're still doing the same thing. It's not like they float to the top and stay there, though. They just look like they're playing because they float straight up and then slowly fall back down again. Does anyone know why they do this? Are they actually just having fun? Has anyone witnessed this before?
That is normal mine do the same thing. You cant see it but pond snails travel on a mucus string I think is what you would call it so it appears they are floating. Yes its so funny to watch them do this...lol
