Stocking My 15 Gallon

I have a new fifteen gallon column aquarium that is set up and running. I'm going to stock it with fish next weekend, just to make sure that the tank is functioning properly. My current plan is to get 3 dwarf gouramis and 5 guppies. Am I over stocking? Are these good choices for my tank? The pH is at about eight, and I know that I need to lower it to abut seven. And the ammonia is at less than .02, so I think that I'm good on that. Here is a pic of the tank:

I know that I'll need some hanging plants and some taller plants, but I'll get those at the same time that I get the fish. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't keep more than 1 Dwarf Gourami in a 15 gallon tank. 5 guppies would be fine, but I'd get all males unless you want a boatload of fries!

Flame - Red and Blue Veiltail Male
Oswald - Blue Halfmoon Male

Yeah, I'm well aware of that. I've already heard that I'll do better with only one gourami. And I DEFINITELY don't want to breed guppies! Thanks for the advise.

You have to be careful about playing with the pH. There is a range that many fish can adjust to, but the extremes can be tough. If your pH is 8, I would certainly try to keep fish that prefer between 7-8.

As a side note - the reason it's nice to know someone's location is because advice can differ by region. "why do you care" is cute, but, I can't tell you how many times I've seen an OP post a question and receive a whole slough of responses, only to find out that the OP lives overseas rendering the advice that people took time from their day to provide irrelevant. Your country is all that's really needed.

125 - BGK, chanchito cichlid, pictus cats, silver dollars, palmas bichir
125 - cichlids (severums, bolivian rams, chocolate), rainbows ( turquoise, red), loaches (angelicus, zebra, kuhli and horseface), plecos (BN, RL and clown), denison barbs, tiretrack eel, pearl gouramis, betta
90 - Congo tetras, african knife, upside down cats, spotted ctenopoma, kribensis, delhezzi bichir
2.5 - betta

Okay... Well, I'm from the U. S. I didn't consider that.
