Bettas and Dwarf Gouramis (asking about multiple males)

I have a 20gL with 3 female bettas and one male dwarf gourami. I was wondering if I could add another male DG or not. I know that compatibility depends on their personality and such, but I'm just wondering if I can try to add another male. The stocking and everything would be fine. I'm just wondering about the compatibility of the two males. The bettas and the current male DG get along great. Any advice?

You can try anything. I dont think its a good idea though. How long has your current setup been working for you?

125 - BGK, chanchito cichlid, pictus cats, silver dollars, palmas bichir
125 - cichlids (severums, bolivian rams, chocolate), rainbows ( turquoise, red), loaches (angelicus, zebra, kuhli and horseface), plecos (BN, RL and clown), denison barbs, tiretrack eel, pearl gouramis, betta
90 - Congo tetras, african knife, upside down cats, spotted ctenopoma, kribensis, delhezzi bichir
2.5 - betta

My current setup has been working since December. My dwarf gourami has lived with a male plakat in a 10g as well for several months. I'm just wondering if he'd react indifferently to the new male like he does with the bettas.

I suppose it's possible he will be indifferent. However, the VARIABLE is the new fish. Whether or not your DG reacts indifferently, adding a new one could upset the balance you seem to have. The new one is a wild card. I think you'd be asking for trouble.

Ok, I'll stick with the one I have. I add a new female betta every so often and they just reestablish the pecking order. I think I'll stick to adding the bettas. Thanks, jaysee.
