Tetra mates?

So, yeah. I'm planning for my future 20+ gallon and I'm not sure what I want to do exactly yet. Really want to do tetras but I dunno if I want to move things from the 10 to the new one when I get it or what. But yeah, I want to get a shoaler like tetras but dunno about tankmates. Cories and shrimp? Would they be fine? Thinking... 5 tetras, 4 cories, handful of ghost shrimp? Or is that overkill? I know it'll be at minimum a 20. I currently only have Honey still, intend on getting my loaches on the 20th or 21st when I'm off, then the betta in May.

NO I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. *shiftyeyes.*

Edit: Would cherry barbs be okay? Or platies? Or would those roam in the same section as the tetras?

No shrimp, cories will get them. Cories are fine with them though.
