platy grow out tank?

okay well ive run completely out of money. so i cant buy an actual tank for my platy fry to grow out in. i would like to grow them big enough to give to my lfs so that they wont sell them for food (ive become attached). so i was wondering if it was okay for them to be put into a makeshift tank, like a 5 gal storage container. i have an extra heater, and i have an air pump, but no extra filter. will they be okay without a filter if i do the necessary water changes?

It would probably hold the weight but you have to be more concerned on on how the tanks weight is spread oout on the stand to keep it from cracking

I use to have a breeder box to care for the fry and float it on time of the tank. They are quite cheap too.

you can do a storage container with airstone and heater. they don't need a filter just make sure to do many water changes and suction out uneaten foo every night.

i have the box, but with 13 babies in there i dont think they'll be doing much growing. but i think ill start setting up the storage container because these babies are getting real big, real fast!
