Black Moor Goldfish

Hello everybody I have a male and a female black moor goldfish, and I was wondering if it was too late in the year for them to mate. Also, can black moor and fantail goldfish mate?

Any 2 goldfish can mate. The trick is knowing if you have a male and a female.
Also, goldfish are generally pretty big before they spawn and they need a LOT of room to do it.
Do you have a pond?
If not you're going to need at least 60 gallons for them, and 100 is better. Most people without room for a pond use stock tanks in their basement.

You get your best results by spawning them in a small school, 2 males and 3 females. The males will chase and body slam the females and they quickly release small bursts of eggs and sperm when they hit the sides/shallows/plants.

I currently have them in a 29 gallon with a great filter, is that good enough? I would sell the new fish.

Probably not. If they are comfortable living in a 29, they're probably not big enough to be sexually mature.
And they just won't spawn unless they have lots of room to chase each other.

Sorry about the bad news :(

The only person I ever knew who spawned them without a pond had 4 stock tanks in his basement and 2 in his yard, he bred show quality Orandas. Breeding size ones are BIG. About 5-6 inches from the back of the gills to the base of the tail.
A stock tank is this; http://www.lowes.com/pd_225317-60456...r|1&facetInfo=

Well, thank you anyways. I will wait until spring and see what they do!
