Grrr Mystery Snails

Another one of my Mystery snails appears to by dying. Grr!!! This is two in the past couple months, and three since New Years. They were all in separate tanks. My other two in this tank are fine, and this is the tank with the babies. My ivory snail has been floating for a week now hanging out of the shell. It doesn't smell, and I "think" I see it move (even though it's feelers and whole body is hanging out). There is plenty of food in the tank, and the parameters are perfect (I do water changes every day because it's not filtered). Ugh! Well, I've put it into a QT jar to watch. We shall see what happens.

How long had you had your snails that passed? My understanding is that most times they only live for about a year in an aquarium & that has been my experience.

The first one to pass would've been about a year, the second two were brought home in Feb. They were not very large. My largest snail is the size of a ping pong ball and going strong. It'll be a year for it in... I believe Aug or Sep.

Well... it's still not dead. It closed up into it's shell. I have no idea whats going on with it. I'm going to keep an eye on it, and if it starts acting normally again I'll put it back in the tank.

Did you acclimate him?
My past two snails died, one died for no reason and the other was being eaten. :/

Over hundreds of bettas die in their small, dirty cups each day. Only you can help them live. Research and then save them, today!

It's been in the tank since Feb.

I think I figured out what happened. I noticed something black on the snail, up near it's shell when it was hanging out. That little black thing, was a baby snail (discovered it on the side of my QT jar). So I'm thinking it might've been hanging out because the baby was up in it's shell.
