Goldfish - Outdoor Stock Tank?

Is this possible? I'm thinking a 40 with 2-3 Ryukins. :3 I'd prefer something smaller...

They wouldn't be able to stay outside in the winter, though...

What do you use for your outdoor ((Above Ground)) ponds?

You'd be able to get about 2 in the 40 and thats the absolute minimum IMO for two fancy goldfish. :]

I have an above ground, stock tank pond. its a 700 gallon one and once its finished cycling my goldies are going to be moving in. only a few more weeks to go ffff

Its still being cycled and the wood frame I'm building around it hasnt been started. The stock tank itself cost about $350 and then I bought all my equipment from someone off craigslist for $150.

Basically I just set it where it needed to go, got sand to make sure it was on a level area and then bought a pond liner (just bc I didn't like the blue stock tank and it only came in blue or silver). The filter and UV light are just sitting right next to the pond now, but I'm going to be putting them in a little covered area off the frame of the pond. And once the frames up I'm going to set up the water return to be a waterfall :]

Cool! How do you calculate the gallons? XD And will they be moved inside in the winter?

Edit: I'm dying. This is one of Dandy Oranda's Ryukins.

I died inside; I need to stop looking at Ken's fish.

Intex Mini Frame Kids 48"x48"x12" Beginner Kiddie Swimming Pool would be the pool *coughcough"pond"coughcough* that I got.

Edit: It says 89G on Walmart's site. So that would be enough for 2-3 Ryukins, right?

*facepalm* I forgot, we have Hawks around here.....

Well, then...

Anyway, how would I protect from hawks? Plus rain, plus the rabbits that will probably drink from it. .-. I could possibly just get a bunch of floaters.... But my air pump would create an unprotected area.. Hmmm....

It probably says 119 because the frame of the pond is 48"x whatever. Searche it on google, I'll be getting it from wal-mart.

Mine will have a removable net over it. not aesthetic ally pretty but Id rather have alive fish since there are racoons and herons around here who love preying on pond fish. Just be prepared to lose them to animals no matter how hard you try because animals always find a way in.

89G you could get up to 6 in there and thats fully stocked.
