Java Moss Question.

My local PetCo just got some java moss and I decided to get some, after looking for the past month. It came on a log some of it is on the log fairly good but some is not so much. after setting it in my tank a chunk came off.

So I'm trying to see if I can help keep that bit alive.
I've got a weight and some string to keep it kinda floating in my tank. Will that work well? I want to grow more if I could so I need help keeping this alive.

Imo, most people like to tie java moss onto logs and rocks not just because it looks great but, it's easier to tell how much the moss has grown rather than in a clump. As long as there's nutrients and some light then it'll grow anywhere.

That's fine, just make sure it gets decent care and not too clumped up together. If you notice any brown strands then pluck those off too.

Its a very loose ball I did use nylon fishing sting to hold it together. Is that okay?
