Question Thinking about it

I have a 30G tank that will soon be a community tank, and I'm thinking of doing plants. I've already read the forum on how to set up a on how to set up a soil based tank, I was just wondering if you could plant a non-soil based tank? If I'm able to do it, and if I set it up like November 3rd and I plan to add fish after X-mas, will that be enough time?
Thanks

I had a non-soil base planted tank. Infact, I don't use soil. I use gravel. And have you cycled your tank?

Two things since your question has been answered. Wait to add plants until the cycle is over and add plants at least a week before fish. This will give them the chance to grow back from melting a bit. Also get a 6500k bulb, as plants need a certain color spectrum, and 6500k is good if you are limited to one bulb.

Try to find some really small gravel to mix in or use as the first layer of your aquarium bed. I found it to be a lot easier to plant roots in.

Good luck!

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.
