What kind of plant is this?

This got mixed up with my frogbit order not that long ago, and its just kind of been floating around ever since, its got tons of root shoots all over, so i'm assuming it is supposed to be a floater, but i would really like to know what exactly it is?

This is a stem plant. possibly ludwigia, but I really have no clue until you plant it and let it grow.

I should plant it then? It's kind of impossible to tell where the base is since it has roots growing all over the place, will it matter if I plant it upside down by accident?

leaves will grow upwards. the underside of the leaf is a faded green whilst the top side is a brighter green.

From the photo I can tell the end on the right side is the base.

but you can simply plant the section where it has roots growing out and leave the two ends exposed.

i'm pretty sure it's a water primrose.

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,

'Cause there's bugger-all down here on Earth.

No it looks somewhat similar but not close enough to be water primrose. But thanks for trying to help!

And thanks aokashi. I'll plant it and after it grows a bit I'll repost!
