genghis's plant farm!

this week we bought a 2 gallon mason jar and set it up as a farm to grow some wisteria and primrose both to plant our own tanks and to sell. as an added bonus, our little dragon delta Genghis has made it his home, and he's still happily exploring every little nook and cranny, and keeping the plants fed with his little fishy poops. i'm happy to report that the plants have all grown about an inch or so since we planted them on monday, and i'm about to trim and replant the ones that are growing out over the surface. this is fun!

p.s. he LOVES that emerged dracenia, a couple of the leaves dip down under the water and make him some lovely natural betta hammocks, and he's already built a bubble nest under one of them!

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger-all down here on Earth.

The dracnia looks a little too much under water. Nice in all though. If your tank is a farm mine must be plantations. I grow new plants in the filter. I am even farming crypts there exploding in population.

hmmm... thats a rather overgrown dracenea for the jar... i would switch to pothos or a vine like plant with a more delicate looking structure and allow more light into the tank....i recommend species only tanks, like all water wisteria or all watersprite etc. easier to grow and harvest.

but other than that, yay! ur getting there! and genhgis is a very pretty fish!
