First attempt at NPT, soil question

Hi there!

I'm attempting to switch my tank to a NPT. At the moment I have a few plants anchored or potted. (And a little moss ball!) I went to the store today to try and get the soil, but the only organic soil I could find was this (http://www.burpee.com/ssm/organic-se...rod131352.html). When I got home I realized it's not true soil, but coir. Does anyone have any ideas if this is safe to use or should I try returning it?

Thanks.

return it, it is totally different, coir is coconut husks. this is seed starting medium and it floats a lot more than soil. it has a weaker mineral content also. not sure what it would do to your ph. it may make your water a little softer.
