More than one plant on a log?

I got a large piece of driftwood and am wondering if I can plant more than one species of plant on the log or can I only have java ferns on the log?

Also how far apart should plants be spaced on the log for all of them to have growing room?

I've seen tanks with different plants on driftwood. For example, some people attach anubias and then a type of moss. If it's a large piece, I think you would definitely be fine with multiple species, especially if you fertilize at all. I have four different species in my 5 gal, so, as I'm still cycling, I use fert.

I use fertilizer as well, I have two java ferns attacked to either end of the log and a third one growing in a separate tank since it's just a baby yet. I was thinking about getting some more plants as well like Amazon Sword, Whisteria, and Anubias. Also some more mossy/grassy plant.

Yeah, I love the natural look lots of plants can give a tank. I recently added a floating water sprite, and my fish looooves it. That's his favorite place to sleep in now. c:
