I like to use clear plastic hair bands. They come in all kids of sizes.

I meant to glue the ends of the threads XD You can probably scrunch the ends together and then give it a dab

Fishing line is tough to tie it so it keeps the one item tightly fastened to the other. Or maybe it's just me?

That's why fishermen and boyscouts are famous for knots XD

Fishing line either needs a special knot or a looooong dangling end that you trim. Personally I just wrap it around a million times until I can yank on i and it doesn't budge.
