I just checked my params today and everything is 00ppm. Hopefully it stays that way but things seem pretty much cycled :) I usually see them, so that's why I was a little concerned when they disappeared.

I dumped tetra safestart into my tank and my snail almost immediately started being more active and turned into a poop factory. Sure enough, I tested the parameters a few days after when the tank was due for a water change and the params were 0. :)

I hope the snails are okay... I'd still see if you can find them at night, though.

Wattage wise, it all depends on what you go with and what range you want to be in. LED's is hard to say, with t5ho you want like a 1/2-1.5 watts per gallon for low light 2-4 for moderate-high, with t-8 I had like 18 watts on a 28 gallon tank and it was very low light but sufficient enough...its hard to say. 5000-8000k is where you want to be at, most people, me included stick with 6500k as it's the closest to natural daylight but I do have a 5000k CFL on one tank and its working just fine
The odyssea light i mentioned would work out well for low-moderate light on your tank, and its a great price.

As for the dwarf hair grass, it's a moderate-high light plant that should have co2's hard to grow and probably won't do well in your tank until you upgrade your lighting
